Content delivery network providers are always on the look out for new and innovative solutions to boost the performance of their products. Ranging from building new infrastructure to partnering with other providers, this can ensure their customers always have the best performance when serving their data to end users, whatever their needs.
Concurrent are a global provider of high performance Linus and storage solutions, and they have recently announced the deployment of an open source content delivery network for customers that prefer the freedom and flexibility of open software. Now, they have rolled out an open source transparent caching solution to supplement their content delivery network.
Content Delivery Network Integration
The caching solution, known as Laguna, will integrate with their CDN and will specifically help improve the performance of over-the-top (OTT) services such as Netflix, Hulu and Amazon Prime TV, as well as a host of other online content sources, for their Concurrent customers. It will do this by caching the most popular content at the edge of service provider networks, reducing latency, boosting bandwidth and bypassing congestion.
