CDN Video Performance Boost for ARRIS by Akamai
CDN video delivery is fast becoming one of the most popular uses of content delivery networks. As services such as YouTube, Netflix and Vimeo grow in popularity and more and more data delivered across the internet is in the form of high definition video, the need for high speed data acceleration has also been increasing as content providers aim to give their customers the best possible end user experience.
The latest company to enter the CDN video acceleration fray is ARRIS, a leading broadband equipment specialist. They have 
announced that they will be offering Akamai’s Aura Licensed Content Delivery Network as part of the end-to-end IP video portfolio.
CDN Video Acceleration Benefits
By partnering with Akamai, ARRIS can provide CDN video acceleration technologies to their partner operators, giving them access to a variety of streaming, management and scaling content delivery services. Furthermore, it will allow them to utilise multiscreen and mobile delivery platforms.
Speaking of the development, Mick Scully, VP and General Manager, Carrier Products at Akamai Technologies, noted that “as customer expectations around TV viewing and video consumption change, Pay TV solutions must evolve as well. A key part of that evolution for network operators is the adoption of CDN technology as part of their overall solution.
