Type of CDN SSL services

These days, the use of SSL has become much more common. There are 3 type of SSL services

Shared domain SSL: Implies the use of a shared domain that belongs to the CDN provider under thier SSL certificate shared among clients.
Shared IP custom SSL hosting (SNI): This allows a server to connect multiple SSL Certificates to one IP address and gate. SNI stands for Server Name Indication and is an extension of the TLS protocol. It indicates which hostname is being contacted by the browser at the beginning of the ‘handshake’-process.
Dedicated IP custom SSL hosting: The ability to upload own SSL certificate to each CDN POP on a dedicated IP and resources.

Some CDNs offer managed Shared IP custom SSL hosting by generating either a SAN or a WhildCard SSL from thir main SSL dedicated for the client.
