Ericsson believes that mobile video delivery will grow by 55% annually up to 2021, so the decision to take advantage of a mobile specific content delivery network is a smart move by Vodafone, as it will help them deal with the additional demand expected over the coming years.
Speaking of their new content delivery network deal, Pedro Duarte, TV and video services manager at Vodafone Portugal, said, “Our subscribers demand access to TV and video content anywhere and at all times, and we need creative solutions to respond to this rapid growth and deliver on demand services with high quality across an unprecedented number of devices and platforms.
