CDN Security Concerns in Australia

CDN security is a highly important topic. CDN providers invest a lot of money to develop networks that are robust and can handle any attacks or potential security issues with ease. As such, the content delivery network provider Akamai regularly publishes data about internet security around the world. Being CDN security experts, Akamai analyses countries around the globe and rates them depending on their level of security.

One of the key measures of internet security centres around which country is most likely to be the origin of DDoS (distributed denial of service) attacks. During Akamai’s latest State of the Internet report, Australia has the unfortunate honour of entering the list of top 10 DDoS attack origins for the first time ever, accounting for around 4% of global DDoS attacks.

Speaking of the developments, CDN security experts at Akamai stated that “Australia’s appearance on the list is likely due to the increased adoption of high speed internet access throughout NBN (the National Broadband Network) and connectivity of IOT (internet of things) devices in the region
