Peer1

General overview:

The Peer1 Content Delivery Network consists of over 20,000 servers and 21 POPs in 17 cities located throughout North America and Europe. Using a caching system, data is accessed through caching nodes that are placed at the edge of the Peer1 tier 1 'SuperNetwork', ensuring that data is delivered quickly, with the incredibly low load on web servers. The 'SuperNetwork' is wholly owned by Peer1, this giving them unparalleled control over all aspects of it, and allowing them to tailor it to suit the needs of their customers. The Peer1 network also allows customers to accelerate applications and distribute media and software faster with zero capital cost, while also maintain full control via the CDN control panel. And as all customers get their own technical account manager to call in the event of any problems, the whole service is built to run smoothly and fix problems as quickly as possible.

Servers and datacentres:

Over 20,000 servers, 13,000 miles of cable, 21 POPs and 16 datacentres in 13 cities across North America and Europe.

Selected customers:

Over 10,000, including Blast Radius, Vonage, PlentyofFish, Dogster.com, LANDFLIP, MeFeedia, MarineCFO.com, Northeastern Blackout, and Lavalife.

Unique selling point:

The Peer1 CDN directs users to caching nodes that are placed on the edge of their proprietary 'SuperNetwork', greatly improving access time. Few hosting providers own their own network, and even less have one that spans 16 global data centres. Peer1 has been running theirs for ten years, and as such they have gathered a great deal of experience in the industry. This experience helps them provide the best possible service, with swift technical support.
